For the difference of impurity mineral composition and content in quartz of different grain size, the particle size classification of Kaolin tailings by PTMS magnetic separator is carried out first. With 0.71mm as the particle size control limit, the kaolin tailings with +0.71mm particle size is purified by the process of "ball grinding -- obstruction -- classification -- magnetic separation combination -- special scrub -- cleaning". Thus, low ferrite materials (sio2≥99.30%, al2o3≤0.50%, Fe2O3 ≤0.010%) were obtained for the preparation of photovoltaic glass.
The kaolin tailings with 0.71~0.125mm particle size were purified by the process of "PTMS magnetic separating-special scrub-cleaning", which can be used to prepare automobile glass (sio2≥99.20%, al2o3≤0.50%, Fe2O3 ≤0.030%), ware glass (sio2≥99.20%, Al2o3 ≤0.50%, Fe2O3 ≤0.020%), quartz raw material of medicinal glass (sio2≥99.50%, al2o3≤0.50%, Fe2O3 ≤0.018%);
Through the comprehensive utilization of high value and quality and granularity of kaolin tailings, special scrubbing was used in the separation and purification process of PTMS magnetic separator, which shortened the beneficiation process, improved the beneficiation efficiency and saved the cost.
