The wet sieving and desliming process of THE kaolin tailings was firstly adopted by PTMS magnetic separator

Kaolin tailings were prepared by wet sieving and desliming process of PTMS magnetic separator to produce three particle products of +0.71mm, 0.71~0.125mm and -0.125mm, of which -0.125mm was processed and purified into kaolin. (2) The +0.71mm granule in Step (1) was purified by the following steps: A. PTMS ball mill was used for ball grinding, and the grinding medium was steel balls. Then, the coarse quartz particles larger than 0.6mm were returned to the ball mill, and the fine quartz particles smaller than 0.6mm were entered into the hydraulic classifier for classification, and -0.1mm fine quartz, argy cements and mica particles were removed. The sand with particle size greater than 0.1mm will enter the magnetic separation process. B. The graded sand settling in step A is carried out through the first stage of medium magnetic separation to control the medium magnetic field intensity to be 3000MT and the third stage of high magnetic separation to control the high magnetic field intensity to be 13000Mt, 15000Mt and 17000Mt. Iron containing impurity minerals such as iron, mica, ilmenite and hematite are removed from the kaolin tailings to obtain magnetic separation fine sand;

C. A quartz raw material for photovoltaic glass with Fe2O3 content of 96ppm was obtained by heating and high-concentration scrubbing of magnetic separation fine sand in step B, scrubbing temperature was 60℃, mass concentration of material was 68%, impeller linear velocity was 15m/s, impeller layers were 2 layers, time was 30min, medium H2SO4 dosage was 100kg/t; (2) The -0.71mm particle in Step (1) was purified by the following steps: A. The PTMS magnetic separator was used to remove iron, mica, ilmenite, hematite and other iron-bearing impurity minerals from kaolin tailings by controlling the medium magnetic field intensity of 3000MT and the high magnetic field intensity of 13000MT, 15000MT, 16000MT and 17000Mt in the first stage of medium magnetic separation.

C. The PTMS magnetic separator in Step A is used to obtain fine sand and scrub it with high concentration after heating at 50℃, mass concentration of material 70%, impeller linear speed 13m/s, impeller layers 4, time 60min, medium H2SO4 dosage 120kg/t, and a quartz raw material with Fe2O3 content 165ppm for automobile glass is obtained.
