One of the iron removal techniques is to remove the iron from the thin film on the surface of quartz particles by means of microbial leaching and then entering the PTMS magnetic separator. The sample results show that the good effect of iron removal by the PTMS magnetic separator is achieved after the leaching of iron from the thin film on the surface of quartz particles by the microorganisms such as meltromycin, penicillium, pseudomonas, polymyxin and bacillus.
The best iron removal effect was obtained by using meltremycin, the removal rate of Fe2O3 by PTMS magnetic separator was more than 75%, and the grade of Fe2O3 concentrate was as low as 0.007%. Most bacteria and molds pregrown in the medium are better treated by PTMS magnetic separator due to their soluble metabolites, just like other strains.
