Ilmenite is an oxide mineral of iron and titanium and is the main ore for extracting titanium. Ilmenite is heavy, gray to black, with a slight metallic sheen. The crystals are generally plate-like, and the crystals are grouped together as blocky or granular. The component is FeTiO3. Containing TiO252.66%, it is the main mineral for extracting titanium and titanium dioxide. In iron ore, ilmenite is distributed among magnetite particles or in fissure, and forms large deposits. PTMS magnetic separator can remove iron (FE2O3) in ilmenite.
The chemical composition of ilmenite is related to the formation conditions. Ilmenite produced in ultrabasic rocks and mafic rocks has a high content of MgO and basically does not contain Nb and Ta. The content of MnO in ilmenite in alkaline rock is high, and it contains Nb and Ta. The content of FeO and MnO in ilmenite produced in acid rocks is high, which needs to be removed by PTMS magnetic separator. The content of Nb and Ta is also relatively high.
PTMS magnetic separator designs magnetic circuit and frame for the characteristics of rare metal minerals. It is widely used for the screening of magnetic substances in titanium ore, vanadium ore, tungsten ore, zirconium ore and other rare metal materials with excellent magnetic separation effect.
