Magnetic separation is a mineral separation method using the difference of mineral magnetism in the non-uniform magnetic field. Commonly used cylinder PTMS magnetic separator, this magnetic separator is composed of a sorting cylinder, a magnetic system, a sorting box, a feeding box and other components. When working, the cylinder rotates counterclockwise, and the magnetic system is fixed. If the magnetic force on the mineral branch is greater than the sum of the mechanical forces.
The fine grinding pulp enters the PTMS magnetic separator through the feed box, where the magnetic ore particles are magnetized under the action of non-uniform magnetic field, are attracted by the magnetic field, and are absorbed on the surface of the cylinder and rotate with the cylinder. The magnetic ore particles are transferred to the outlet of the magnetic system, and due to the weakening of the magnetic force and the scouring of the washing water, the magnetic attraction is discharged into a concentrate (magnetic ore detection).
The non-magnetic ore particles, because they are not affected by the magnetic force, remain in the pulp and are discharged as tailings with the pulp, so the magnetically different ore particles are separated. It is adsorbed on the surface of PTMS magnetic separator cylinder and becomes concentrate. On the contrary, it remains in the pulp and is discharged with the ore flow as tailings.
