In PTMS magnetic separator field, magnetic particles are subject to competitive force in addition to magnetic force. Competitiveness can be defined as the combined force of all mechanical forces in the direction opposite to magnetic force, including gravity, centrifugal force, inertial force and hydrodynamic resistance. In the process of magnetic separation, the magnetic force is the force of collecting magnetic particles, also known as the magnetic collecting force; Competitiveness is the force that causes magnetic particles to leave the magnetic pole, also known as the detachment force.
Obviously, the necessary condition for the separation of magnetic particles and non-magnetic particles by PTMS magnetic separator is that the magnetic force of the magnetic particles is greater than the competitive force. If two magnetically different particles are to be separated, it is necessary that the magnetic force on the stronger magnetic particle should be greater than the competitive force and that on the weaker magnetic particle should be less than the competitive force.
It should be noted that in the practice of PTMS magnetic separator, it is impossible to have absolutely pure magnetic products and non-magnetic products. Some monomer magnetic particles are mixed with the non-magnetic products and some monomer non-magnetic particles are mixed with the magnetic products, except that the undissociated union affects the purity of the products.
