Based on the new dry PTMS Electromagnetic Separator, the method of EDEM and Fluent coupling is adopted to simulate the sorting process of the new three-stage dry magnetic separator, and then the influence of different wind speed, feed particle size and magnetic roll speed on the sorting effect is studied. Through the simulation analysis, we can deeply understand the influence mechanism of each factor on the sorting effect, and provide a theoretical basis for improving the sorting efficiency.
The size of the wind speed will affect the movement track and sorting effect of the material within PTMS Electromagnetic Separator. Suitable wind speed can better separate magnetic and non-magnetic materials. If the wind speed is too large or too small, it may lead to incomplete material separation or magnetic materials are blown away, reducing the sorting efficiency.
The particle size affected PTMS Electromagnetic Separator sorting. The small feed particle size is beneficial to improve the monomer dissociation degree and make the better separation of magnetic minerals and gangue, but if the particle size is too small, it may increase the energy consumption and equipment wear. It is necessary to determine the appropriate particle size range according to the performance and separation requirements of the magnetic separator.
